A DVD of the real Rock of Ages sounds much more appealing than a group of so called “stars” trying to create what the REAL stars of this show have done. I’ve been to the show on Broadway many times myself and spent bunches of money on flights, hotels, tickets and etc., but I wouldn’t spend $10 to see a trumped up with “stars” Rock of Ages in the theater.

It is a shame that those who have made Rock of Ages such a huge hit on Broadway, luring many of us back to the Brooks Atkinson more times than I care to admit, apparently will not be considered for the movie version.
I agree that Constantine Maroulis was nominated for a Tony for a reason; his performance brings such heart to the lead character and his vocals are simply show-stopping.
At the very least I am hoping that a performance of the outstanding Rock of Ages Broadway cast will be recorded on DVD for future sales and for posterity.

I wish you luck with your venture. If you’ve casting out who I think you are, you’re going to need all the luck you can get. The cast, particularly Constantine is the heart and sole of the show. Without him, I don’t think you have much that I would care to see. Big names don’t equate to big movie successes.
