Eoin Colfer was all set to rev up the action for the sequel to Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy.  After all, he’s the guy who wrote the teen book series, Artemis Fowl.

With a continuation of an adult story, Colfer felt limitless with the language and situations…until he began working.

He realized that he had not only the original Hitchhiker’s fans its author Douglas Adams to live up to, but adding profanity to And Another Thing would only be for the sake of doing it and not necessary for true storytelling.

Colfer admits he’s not your typical Irishman (no swearing, no booze), but he’s laughing confident he’ll get back to his stereotypical roots when he returns to Ireland.
