On this day in 1960, UNITED ARTISTS released THE ALAMO. Directed by JOHN WAYNE, this labor of love was something he nursed to the screen for years. Sharing the screen with WAYNE were RICHARD WIDMARK, LAURENCE HARVEY, FRANKIE AVALON, PATRICK WAYNE, CHILL WILLS and LINDA CRISTAL. Always thought to be pretty bad, time has been surprisingly kind to this film and it’s still a fun watch.
