Actor BILL NIGHY is no stranger to playing pirates having taken on the role of Davy Jones in the PIRATES OF THE CARIBBEAN franchise. But, in the upcoming comedy PIRATE RADIO he plays an entirely different kind of pirate. Loosely based on an actual incident, PIRATE RADIO concerns a group of ramshackle d.j.’s running an illegal radio station on a boat off the U.K. coast. We talked to NIGHY earlier this week and he recounted what the music played by that station meant to him and director RICHARD CURTIS when they were kids.
