Country music legend, Kenny Rogers is making a guest appearance on How I Met Your Mother tonight in an episoded entitled Dual Citizenship.

Ted (Josh Radnor) and Marshall (Jason Segel) hit the road to Chicago to relive a college memory.  But, it’s not the trip they envision after Lily (Alyson Hannigan) barges in for the ride.

It’s because of Lily inviting herself along that Rogers ends up performing a sort of Marley & Me song called Goodbye Sparky, which is clearly designed as a tearjerker moment.

How I Met Your Mother airs Mondays, 8:00 p.m. on CBS.
