On this day in 1951, M-G-M released ANGELS IN THE OUTFIELD. Directed by CLARENCE BROWN from a script by DOROTHY KINGSLEY, this family-friendly fable managed to successfully combine fantasy and baseball. The delightfully charming cast featured PAUL DOUGLAS, JANET LEIGH, KEENAN WYNN, LEWIS STONE, SPRING BYINGTON and ELLEN CORBY. Still better than the 1994 Disney remake.
