I agree with Jasmine. the title “Senior Year is so overrated compared to stardom” is so not what David said and likely not at all what David is like. Why can’t you Hollywood types have better out look on what some people are really like.

Believe it or not some people really are more real and human than that title.

David really is a great kid, and the way you stated it in your title is just so not the way David rolls.

David has blessed all of us again with his incredible gift of music, this time with “Christmas from the Heart”! It’s truly beautiful, we just can’t get enough of listening to it, even though it’s only October! We are so ready for this Christmas season and for David’s Christmas Tour! We are so proud of David, there’s just no one like him, he’s the best!!!

So many comments here sound like there will be an end to David’s singing career. End????? No way. We can’t let that happen.

Why haven’t some of the beautiful songs on his first album not been released? I actually love the following more than the ones that have been released: You Can, To Be With You, Your Eyes Don’t Lie??????? Do any of you know the answer?

Although I’ve been playing David’s Christmas album a lot, mostly in the car, what I do every day is play it when I go to bed. I love listening to it in the quiet of the night.

First, David has always stated how important education is to everyone. It just so happened he had an opportunity to share his musical talent and start a career earlier than most people his age. David is a very talented person with an amazing personality. His musical career has taken off … but he will always have an opportunity to study if he ever finds the time. David has been getting an education just with his career that has given him the opportunity to travel the world and to learn the music industry from the inside and out. Sometimes learning a craft is another way to educate yourself…it doesn’t always have to be in a school setting. I believe David is learning, as we all do, every day just by experiencing all the world has to offer. David is an amazing singer / songwriter. I love his new holiday album - it so well produced and David’s voice just soars throughout the album.

Your article title lead-in is totally misrepresenting what he said. The writer must not have heard it correctly!!??? Of course, by missing your senior year, a person will miss activities and close friends, but an opportunity like this seldom comes along for anyone. David is pursuing his dream. He certainly didn’t express or imply that either was more important than the other. To the contrary, he often in interviews has said that education is very important.

Ally that this exactly the David I know and love! he realizes the importance of doing things you love but chasing your dreams and he wants to set up a future for himself in case this career falls through and with this fickle industry it is ALWAYS wise to have a back up plan no matter how well you will or won’t do! However I do have a feeling he will be around for quite a while! Nice job bringing that interview into this that should show what an amazing person David is!

I don’t think David underrates school. David has spoken at schools and youth groups in the US and abroad about the importance of staying in school and working hard. But David had a choice between a year of school that could be completed any time versus a once in a lifetime opportunity to pursue his dream. He still wants to complete his senior year electronically when he has more time. But he sure is busy now! His new Christmas album is awesome, and he has Demi’s makeup concerts coming up and his own holiday tour and more. And in between that he is working on songs for his 2nd pop album. Busy busy guy but some day he’s get his diploma.

DITTO, DITTO, DITTO!! David Archuleta is doing what he believes in his heart to be the right thing. He knows he has been Blessed by our Heavenly Father with this wonderful gift of touching people’s heart and soul through his music. His strong faith, lots of prayers, his passion for music and his discipline has made it possible for him to continue singing since he was medically not supposed to be after his vocal chord paralysis at an early age. David is only 18 years old and can continue his education just as countless other artist have done throughout their careers.

As previously said, David has his values in the right place. He values his education and experiences with his friends. But he also knows he has the opportunity of a lifetime to do what God has called him to do. He is following that call and making a difference in so many lives around the world. You can’t possibly compare the two things - senior year vs. answering the call. David’s instincts are impeccable and his values are set in stone, which means lots of years of amazing music from him! I, for one, am thrilled to know that I will probably be listening to him for the rest of my life (cause I’m a LOT older than him!). His xmas cd is the best I’ve ever heard and I’m listening to holiday music before Thanksgiving for the first time ever, and loving it! So heartfelt and will reach you at your core being.

This kind of opportunity only comes once in a life time so you might as well grab it for David knows this won’t last a longtime and where he is right now is the best education you can ever have in your life and you can’t learn this in school.

Don’t under estimate David he knows where he is going and what he is doing and he is a smart young man a well grounded person and a realist and he knows how to save and think about the future. If you heard him say on his other interview, he was ask: what is the first thing you will splurge your money to and his answer, ” I will still save it for my education for this kind of career won’t be forever. ” Which is true, he knows what he is talking about.

I agree with SherylNotCrow’s comment. David is a great example and role model for people of all ages. He is taking advantage of the opportunity to work doing what he loves to do; to accomplish goals and pursuing his dream. He doesn’t know, we don’t know if that opportunity will be there in the future. I think he made a very wise decision to continue with his music career now. He is very young and he will have the time and the energy to continue with his studies in the future. I am so happy that he is making music; it is making a difference in a lot of people lives around the world. He is a blessing!

David Archuleta definitely sacrifices much to pursue what he loves to do. But he has said time and time again that he knows he has been blessed and he takes his gift and blessings very gratefully and would never want to change his path. He’s a great example to us all, no matter what age, background or musical preference. Thank you Hollywood Outbreak for posting this and for supporting David’s career - he is a breath of fresh air in the music industry! Yes, I’d have to agree with Jasmine too! School is very important, and David has always affirmed that.
His Christmas CD? Absolutely AMAZING! Could listen to it for HOURS, and that’s what I’ve been doing! I’m afraid I’ll have it worn out long before Christmas! Good thing I’ve bought several copies (& counting)! (12 so far)

I agree with Jasmine. I appreciate Hollywood Outbreak’s support of David, but the title is way off base. It’s something David, himself, would never say! He always talks about the importance of education. But anyway, anyone who enjoys Christmas music should pick up David’s CD! His voice is just the most glorious and uplifting thing I have ever heard.

Not really digging your title.. David didn’t say anything about senior year being overrated. He made it pretty clear that he knows he’s missed fun things with friends at home while he’s been pursuing his dream. Your title gives off a negative vibe and an inaccurate portrayal of what was really said.

I absolutely love David Archuleta! He is amazing and he has expressed so many times how fortunate and blessed he is to have accomplished what he has and he adores his fans as much as they adore him. Oh, and by the way I have his new Christmas cd and have listened only to Christmas music since I bought it.
