On this day in 1949, UNITED ARTISTS released THE GREAT DICTATOR. Written, directed and starring CHARLIE CHAPLIN, this satire of Nazi Germany is considered a classic, containing some of the most iconic images in film history. The stellar cast also included PAULETTE GODDARD, JACK OAKIE, REGINALD GARDNER and BILLY GILBERT. A must see.
