Radio show The Adventures of Ozzie and Harriet airs its first episode. The show focused on the comic situations of a young family that was based on the real-life family of show founders and stars Ozzie and Harriet Nelson. On the radio program, two young actors played the couple’s sons. In 1952, the show moved to television, where it ran until 1966. On the TV show, Ricky and David, the actual sons of Ozzie and Harriet, played themselves. Ricky became a successful rock musician and died in a plane crash in 1985.
