On this day in 1954, WARNER BROTHERS held the Los Angeles premiere of A STAR IS BORN. Directed by GEORGE CUKOR, this was a third telling of what was originally called WHAT PRICE HOLLYWOOD?. This time around, the film starred JUDY GARLAND, JAMES MASON, JACK CARSON and CHARLES BICKFORD. The film served as (yet another) comeback for GARLAND and is considered by many to be one of the greatest Hollywood musicals ever made.
