Directed by ANTHONY ASQUITH from a script by TERRANCE RATTIGAN, this steamy pic starred ELIZABETH TAYLOR and RICHARD BURTON and was actually said to be a roman-a-clef built around RATTIGAN’s friend VIVIAN LEIGH’s attempts to leave LAURENCE OLIVIER for PETER FINCH. We have no idea if there is any truth in this but it’s the stuff of legend Hollywood style.
