On this day in 1952, REPUBLIC PICTURES released THE QUIET MAN. Directed by the great JOHN FORD, this romantic dramedy about a disgraced American boxer who finds love after retiring to Ireland featured the brilliant teaming of JOHN WAYNE and MAUREEN O’HARA in the leads. The supporting cast included such FORD/WAYNE regulars as WARD BOND, and VICTOR McLAGLEN. Terrific fun.
