On this day in 1976, PARAMOUNT PICTURES released BUGSY MALONE. Produced by ROBERT STIGWOOD and directed by ALAN PARKER from his own script, this send up of classic Hollywood backlot musicals was set in the world of 30’s gangsters and cast entirely with children. Cheeky, campy and definitely an acquired taste, the film featured starring performances by JODIE FOSTER, SCOTT BAIO, JOHN CASSISI and MARTIN LEV. An interesting novelty.
