The nominations are in for this year’s Country Music Awards and Taylor Swift’s career is in overdrive. The 19-year-old Country Music sensation is up for Entertainer of the Year, which makes her the youngest nominee ever in that category. Swift was also acknowledged for Female Vocalist, Album and Music Video of the Year.
But it is Brad Paisley who leads the pack of finalists with six nominations for Entertainer, Male Vocalist, Album, Single and Song as well as Music Video of the Year.
Carrie Underwood nabbed two nods for Female Vocalist, and Musical Event of the Year (for her duet with Randy Travis, I Told You So).
Lady Antebellum went from new kids on the block to seasoned pros pulling in two noms for Vocal Group and Single of the Year.
Darius Rucker and Lee Ann Womack both got surprised as they announced the nominees. Although Rucker is a music veteran with the rock band Hootie and the Blowfish, he’s a newcomer to Country Music and managed to grab a New Artist of the Year nomination. While Womack saw her duet with George Strait, Everything But Quits, get a nod for Musical Event of the Year.
Brad Paisley and Carrie Underwood will host the 43rd Annual Country Music Awards when the event broadcasts live on ABC, November 11th from the Sommet Center in Nashville.
