Jake Teichberg (DEMITRI MARTIN) is working at his parent’s motel in the Catskills in 1969. He unwittingly sets the wheels in motion for the defining concert of the era in Taking Woodstock. Taiwan born filmmaker, Ang Lee (The Ice Storm/Brokeback Mountain), just seems to have a knack for tapping into Americana so expect to get that twinge of nostalgia while watching the summer of love unfold on screen.

 

 

 

 

 

Halloween II is the remake of the sequel to the remake of the original Halloween…but realized through the direction of horror fanatic filmmaker and famed musician, Rob Zombie. Zombie has made a name for himself behind the camera with a collection of bloodthirsty flicks and Halloween II is a pure Zombie-fest. In Halloween II, Laurie Strode (Scout Taylor Compton) struggles to come to terms with her whacked-out, murderous brother, Michael Myers who has returned to town. Ironically Zombie is a vegetarian…, which means if any animals were hurt in the making of this movie…they most likely weren’t eaten.

 

 

 

The Final Destination – not to be confused with Final Destination or Final Destination 2 and 3 - is said to be the final installment of the Final Destination movies. Ya buying it? This time, a teen’s premonition of a deadly racecar crash saves his buddies. Naturally, Death comes a callin’ to collect the souls who dodged their fate.  The film is also being show as a 3D feature.

Play the Game stars Andy Griffith as Joe, a lonely elderly man who gets a lesson in hooking up from his grandson David (Paul Campbell). And though David is a genuine ladies man he plays some serious mind games to meet the woman of his dreams. Look for a couple of cast members from the Howard family. Not Griffith’s Mayberry co-star, Ron Howard, but his father  Rance Howard and brother Clint Howard are featured in the film.
