The Office star, Rainn Wilson is working on a book to be published by Hyperion.

Soul Pancake is a “big think” book that attempts to “de-lamify” issues of philosophy, creativity and spirituality. In other words, a satire encouraging readers to question why we dream, what happens when we die and more.

Wilson will have help from the editors of soulpancake.com (Devon Gundry, Golriz Lucina and Shabnam Mogharabi). And the book will offer a personal interactive component that is “irreverent and serious, timeless and timely as well as hip, exciting and just plain fun.”

Who’s not up for that?

In addition count on commissioned artwork, original photos and illustrations.

Wilson calls the opportunity a “dream come true.” Fans can decide if he’s delivered the goods.

Soul Pancake will publish in the fall of 2010.
