On this day in 1955, 20th CENTURY FOX released LOVE IS A MANY SPLENDORED THING. Directed by HENRY KING from the best selling novel by HAN SUYIN, the film was originally acquired as a vehicle for TYRONE POWER with the lead eventually going to WILLIAM HOLDEN who co-starred with JENNIFER JONES. A sweeping soap-opera set against the backdrop of the Communist Revolution in Honk Kong this is a pretty impressive film. Also known for having one of the most popular theme songs of all time.
