Country music star, Lorrie Morgan is Broadway bound for "Pure Country."

Country music star, Lorrie Morgan is headed to Broadway to join the cast of the upcoming production of Pure Country.

The musical is based on the 1992 movie of the same name, which starred fellow country music legend George Strait and actress Leslie Ann Warren.

Morgan is ready to take on the Big Apple, in fact, it’s been a lifelong ambition for the singer. But, she does admit that she’s got a healthy case of nerves…particularly because Broadway is so demanding.

Still, she’s packed her bags and is anticipating all good things when Pure Country opens at the beginning of 2010.

The musical also stars well-known country music sensation, Joe Nichols.
