On this day in 1961, AMERICAN INTERNATIONAL PICTURES released THE PIT AND THE PENDULUM based on the classic horror tale by EDGAR ALLEN POE. Directed by ROGER CORMAN the cast featured VINCENT PRICE, JOHN KERR, BARBARA STEELE and BESSIE LOVE. Like most CORMAN films, this was shot on a shoestring budget and prided itself on its hammy performances. It’s classic CORMAN.
