Paula Abdul could easily soothe her bruised feelings by taking ABC Entertainment President Steve McPherson up on his offer.

McPherson admits he was stunned that FOX let Abdul slip through their fingers and said he would like to have her as a contestant or even a judge on the hit reality show Dancing With The Stars.

For those of you who don’t know, Abdul not only sings but also started her career out as a bonafide choreographer/dancer.  She made her early mark as a Laker Girl.

If Abdul takes him up on his offer she could go head to head with FOX’s other reality show So You Think You Can Dance.

On Tuesday, Abdul announced she would not be returning to American Idol after eight season with the series.  Contract negotiations failed to come to a mutually satisfactory conclusion.

Both Dancing with the Stars and So You Think You Can Dance begin their new season in the fall.
