On this day in 1953, M-G-M released THE BAND WAGON. Directed by VINCENTE MINNELLI from the hit COMDEN & GREEN Broadway smash, this musical play within a movie was a real audience pleaser. Heading the cast list was FRED ASTAIRE, CYD CHARISSE, OSCAR LEVANT and NANETTE FABRAY. Great song and dance numbers.
