tinglerOn this day in 1959, COLUMBIA PICTURES released THE TINGLER. Directed by master showman WILLIAM CASTLE, the film got the CASTLE touch when several theaters tricked out seats that would vibrate when people on screen screamed. The gimmick got loads of press and THE TINGLER became something of a legend in its day. As far as the film goes, it’s the definative B-movies starring VINCENT PRICE, DARRYL HICKMAN and PATRICIA CUTTS. But the real star of a WILLIAM CASTLE movie was WILLIAM CASTLE.
