Life’s rough for filmmaker Peter Jackson. Sure, he’s made a ton of money with the “Lord of the Rings” trilogy. Sure, those movies earned him seven Academy Award nominations (and three Oscars). But his involvement with those movies has completely cost him his anonymity with the sci-fi and fantasy geeks who populate Comic-Con every year, who would certainly mob him if he dared to walk the convention floor. He attended this year as a panelist promoting his next movie, “DISTRICT 9,” but when Hollywood Outbreak caught up with him in San Diego, Jackson lamented that he would have loved to have been on the other side of the podium.
