Desperate Housewives star, Eva Longoria Parker and comedian, George Lopez will host this year’s Alma Awards; a show that celebrates Latin achievement in the entertainment industry.

There are some changes expected for the telecast. Number one, this will be the first time the event will take place during National Hispanic Heritage Month. There will be new categories, too, including a nod to emerging young talent along with a sports award.

In addition to hosting the ceremony, Longoria Parker is also one of the show’s executive producers.

The Alma Awards will air September 18 on ABC.
