News of former American Idol contestant, Alexis Cohen’s death did not go unnoticed by Idol judge, Paula Abdul.

As we reported earlier, Cohen, who was one of Idol’s strangest auditioners (flipping off Simon Cowell), was killed in a hit-and-run accident in a New Jersey seaside town Saturday.

Always compassionate, Abdul sent out her sympathy to the colorful contestant’s family on her Twitter page.

“My heart goes out to the family of Alexis Cohen. She showed great courage at #Idol and let’s all send our prayers to her family now.”
