Dominc Monaghan, who starred on the hit sci-fi series Lost, has joined the cast of the new ABC drama, Flashforward.

The show’s premise? The world’s population has been given a peek of their future. Do they accept what they saw or try to change destiny?

In addition to his role as Hobbit Meradoc “Merry” Brandybuck in the Lord of the Rings trilogy, Monaghan has starred in a number of movies and TV shows including X-Men Origins: Wolverine and the NBC comedy, Chuck.

The series also stars Joseph Fiennes, Courtney B. Vance and John Cho and is set to premiere in the fall.
