On this day in 1942, M-G-M released the classic MRS. MINIVER. Directed by WILLIAM WYLER, this story of a middle-class London family  coping with life during the first  months of WWII was the first film to garner five acting nominations at the Academy Awards. Still a real heart-breaker.
