I think he's chosen some truly terrible movies most especially lately. But the truth is that unless it's actually the actor's production co that's in control - the actor's themselves (no matter how big they are) don't have any control over the script or the outcome of the movie. Film is a director/editor's medium. They alone have the power to make a script & an actor look very bad. He has more poor quality films than good. I think he’s chosen some truly terrible movies most especially lately. His action loaded personality makes him one of the top actors in the field today. He has the Charm of Cary Grant and the Scottish grit and warrior ethic to pull of the historic roles as well. I would and so would several million of his fans ,trust his choices right down the line. On to Victory Gerry.
