On this day in 1961, UNITED ARTISTS premiered BY LOVE POSSESSED. Based on the best-selling novel by JAMES GOULD COZZENS, the controversial film was directed by JOHN STURGES and touted a cast that included LANA TURNER, EFREM ZIMBALIST JR, JASON ROBARDS, BARBARA BEL GEDDES and GEORGE HAMILTON. It continues to be a ‘guilty pleasure’ to this day.
