On this day in 1970, UNITED ARTISTS broke a few bounderies and pushed a few envelopes with the release of WHERE’S POPPA?. Directed and written by ROBERT KLANE, this story of a mamma’s boy lawyer who schemes to get rid of his mother when he meets the girl of his dreams, was outrageous for the sake of being outrageous. Starring GEORGE SEGAL, RUTH GORDON, RON LIEBMAN and TRISH VAN DEVERE, the film is pretty much a product of its time.
