On this day in 1980, COLUMBIA PICTURES released THE BLUE LAGOON. Directed by RANDAL KLEISER and starring BROOKE SHIELDS and CHRISTOPHER ATKINS, this controversial film had several ‘family values’ type groups up in arms because of the near nudity of the two young stars. Fans of the film should definitely search out the DVD for it’s hysterical dueling commentary tracks.
