On this day in 1977, AMERICAN INTERNATIONAL PICTURES released the ridiculously bad adaptation of H.G. WELLS’ story, EMPIRE OF THE ANTS. Directed by BERT I. GORDON the film featured a stellar cast of B-list celebrities that included JOAN COLLINS, ROBERT LANSING, JOHN DAVID CARSON and ALBERT SALMI. The only thing worse than the performances were the special effects and, yet, it continues to be immensely watchable.
