In the upcoming MICHAEL MANN gangster epic, PUBLIC ENEMIES, CHRISTIAN BALE plays G-Man Melvin Purvis, sent by F.B.I. honcho J. EDGAR HOOVER to ‘get’ John Dillinger. While the sexuality of HOOVER is no longer a secret, there’s been some speculation about Purvis and the relationship he may have had with Hoover.
