On this day in 1935, UNITED ARTISTS released the big screen adaptation of JACK LONDON’S classic adventure novel, THE CALL OF THE WILD. Directed by WILLIAM WELLMAN and starring CLARK GABLE, LORETTA YOUNG and JACK OAKIE, this film has been getting junior high students through book reports for decades.
