Greg Kinnear and Kelly Preston will play Miley Cyrus’ parents in “The Last Song,” Disney’s adaptation of the upcoming Nicholas Sparks novel.
Julie Anne Robinson is directing, and Adam Shankman and Jennifer Gibgot are producing via their Offspring Entertainment.
The story centers on a rebellious teenager (Cyrus) who is forced to spend the summer with the father who left her years earlier.
Kinnear is the estranged father, a former Juilliard professor and concert pianist. Preston plays the mother.
The movie began shooting Monday in Georgia.
