“The Taking of Pelham 1 2 3” is set in New York City, where an MTA train has been commandeered, and it’s up to Denzel Washington’s character to resolve the situation.  Washington was an appropriate choice for the role, since he’s very much familiar with the subterranean labyrinth known as NYC’s subway system.
