On this day in 1968, UNIVERSAL PICTURES released BOOM!. Directed by JOSEPH LOSEY from the play/screenplay by TENNESSE WILLIAMS, this movie may not have been high art but is certainly a camp classic. Hysterical performances by ELIZABETH TAYLOR and RICHARD BURTON as a wealthy socialite and penniless poet are punctuated by a caftan-wearing NOEL COWARD shouting the film’s title as waves crash around his feet. Must be seen to be believed.
