On this day in 1964, M-G-M released the all time kitschy classic VIVA LAS VEGAS. Directed by GEORGE SIDNEY (BYE BYE BIRDIE, PAL JOEY) and starring the dynamite team of ELVIS PRESLEY and ANN-MARGARET, the story about a race car driver for the Las Vegas Grand Prix is just an excuse to show off the town and perform some great musical numbers. Good fun.
