On this day in 1966, UNIVERSAL PICTURES released another in their signature line of women’s melodramas with MADAME X. Directed by DAVID LOWELL RICH, the film had many of the features made popular by DOUGLAS SIRK. Starring LANA TURNER, JOHN FORSYTHE, VIRGINIA GREY, RICARDO MONTALBAN and BURGESS MEREDITH this uber-stylish, three-hankie soap opera is a crowd pleaser to this day.
