“State Of Play,” a political thriller opening in theaters this Friday, features Ben Affleck as a congressman whose career is in jeopardy after his mistress is killed.  Russell Crowe is the investigative journalist assigned to the case, and Rachel McAdams plays Crowe’s colleague. The collaboration was a fruitful one for the “Notebook” star, and she talked about her experience working with the Crowe.
