Pardon my temerity to disagree with your perception of Anoop Desai. No way is he comparable to former AI contestant Sanjaya Malakar concerning the voice. The only similarity they have besides their nationality is, both are endearing and charming, the likable demeanor as you put. Anoop is a geek with a voice that many of his supporters (anooper troopers) even consider him as a hunk. It might even astound you that on AI site, forumers drool over his __*cough*.lol. Anyhow, I always believe that one’s talent should surpass the hype. Anoop definitely is not mere hype. Check out his you tube videos uploaded by clefhangerfan. There are several videos that will ascertain my claims that he truly has an amazing sweet voice. Most mayhap believed that AI title is an elusive title for Anoop Desai but we’ll never know. Anoop might even surprise YOU!

Anoop is not this years Sanjaya the only thing they have in common is they are both INDIAN, and other than that they are completely opposite from each other. Anoop has an incredible voice, if you doubt my statement then please check out his “UNC CLEF HANGERS” youtube videos like - “The Only One For Me”, “Because Of You”, “Be Without You”, “Sexy Love”, “Because Of You” etc. Anoop definitely deserves his spot in the top 10, and he is popular because he has an amazing, soothing voice. I was never a Sanjaya fan my faves on Season 6 were Melinda Doolittle & Jordin Sparks. Im a fan of RnB singers who have incredible voices, and who have the most potential and that is why I am a fan of Anoop.

I disagree with your article — Anoop (unlike Sanjaya) does have an incredible voice. Did you hear him sing “Always on my Mind” last week? It was amazing. Plus, if you look him up on YouTube, you’ll find all these incredible performances of his with his college a capella group called the Clef Hangers. He definitely has talent!
