LET THE RIGHT ONE IN (Magnolia Pictures  R  $26.98) Swedish director TOMAS ALFREDSON has surprised everyone with this scariest and most atmospheric horror movie of last year. The story of an outcast 12-year-old whose new bff is the abused little vampire girl next door will have you sitting on the edge of your seat. American rights have already been snapped up for a remake so see the original before that happens.

MILK (Focus Features  R  $29.98) SEAN PENN (Best Actor) and DUSTIN LANCE BLACK (Best Original Screenplay) won Oscars for their participation in director GUS VAN SANT’S biopic of HARVEY MILK, the country’s first openly gay elected government official. It’s a brilliant film with stunning attention to period detail and great performances from all involved. This one is a keeper.

PINOCCHIO: 70th ANNIVERSARY PLATINUM EDITION (Walt Disney Home Video  G  $29.88) Walt Disney’s Pinocchio has always been one of our Top Five Favorite animated pleasures. The winning combination of a wise-cracking conscience and a trip to Pleasure Island (along with the most stunning background art Disney ever churned out) has forever been too hard to resist. This special re-release doesn’t disappoint and delivers in every possible way it can. This is what DVD is all about.
