On this day in 1968, American International Pictures released PSYCH-OUT, the story of an innocent young girl who runs away to find her brother in San Francisco’s Haight-Ashbury district. Directed by RICHARD RUSH, this is typical 60’s hippie stuff but with a cast that includes JACK NICHOLSON, SUSAN STRASBERG, DEAN STOCKWELL, BRUCE DERN and GARY MARSHALL (as the plainclothes cop). Oh yeah, this one is worth checking out.
