On this day in 1966, Warner Brothers released one of the absolute, hands-down WORST studio movies of the 60’s (maybe even EVER). THE OSCAR, directed by PETER GODFRY and starring an amazingly large cast headed by STEPHEN BOYD, ELKE SOMMER and (in his motion picture debut) TONY BENNETT, told the story of a selfish, self-centered actor clawing his way to the top in Hollywood. A movie that must be seen to be believed, THE OSCAR is a hall-of-famer on our list of ‘bad movies we love’.
