Last weeks news that JIM CARREY and JAKE GYLLENHALL have signed on to star in a remake of the musical DAMN YANKEES reminded us of an interview we did with RAY WALSTON (MY FAVORITE MARTIAN, PICKET FENCES) back in February of 1999.

WALSTON won a Tony for his performance in the original Broadway production of DAMN YANKEES and then went on to reprise the role in the movie version. A star of stage, screen and television, WALSTON talked about his iconic role as Applegate and gently dismissed JERRY LEWIS’ attempt to do it in the revival. Listen in below:
