On this day in 1940, 20th Century Fox released JOHN FORD’S depression era classic, THE GRAPES OF WRATH. Based on the brilliant novel by JOHN STEINBECK, the film starred HENRY FONDA, JANE DARWELL and JOHN CARRADINE. Both FORD and DARWELL walked of with Academy Awards. A truly great film.
