On this day in 1984, Paramount Pictures released FOOTLOOSE and started a dance craze around the world. KEVIN BACON starred as Ren, a (pre EMO) guy who just wants to dance. When his mom forces their move to a religious ‘no-dance’ zone, Ren sets out to set the local youth free. Some really great musical set pieces are crowned by KENNY LOGGONS’ title tune.
