On this day in 1984, MGM/UA released FRANCIS FORD COPPOLA’S epic gangster film THE COTTON CLUB. Set against thr backdrop of the legendary nightspot, the film starred RICHARD GERE, DIANE LANE, GREGORY HINES, BOB HOSKINS, NICHOLAS CAGE and GWEN VERDON. While not a success at the time of it’s release, THE COTTON CLUB has gone on to become a fan fave.
