On this day in 1963, director MARTIN RITT’S gritty drama, HUD, was released to theaters and PAUL NEWMAN went from being a working actor to being a ‘movie star”.

NEWMAN’s HUD was the anti-hero you either ‘loved-to-hate’ or ‘hated-to-love’ but, either way, he stayed with you long after the lights went up.
