This day in 1959 saw the release of PILLOW TALK, a frothy light-weight rom-com starring DORIS DAY and ROCK HUDSON. 

Because of the success of this film, they were considered a ‘match made in heaven’ and the two went on to make two more movies (LOVER, COME BACK and SEND ME NO FLOWERS) that cemented their standing as America’s sweethearts. 

And while America learned later that they could never really be ’sweethearts’, the relationship between DORIS DAY and ROCK HUDSON was a friendship for the ages.
